Mendeecees Harris allegedly turned himself in for outstanding drug charges. He is also facing separate charges up to 20 years in jail for sexual assault with a minor, that trial begins tomorrow January 29, 2013.

Harris was arrested in 2001 in Hagerstown, Maryland for distributing cocaine and was sentenced to four years in prison, three years probation. —–Not sure if Mr. Harris served any time in jail, and not sure if the current outstanding charges are related.

Jury selection began Wednesday in Hackensack for the trial of a hip-hop reality TV star accused of molesting an underage girl in Lodi two years ago.

Mandeecees Harris, a 34-year-old actor on the VH1 reality show “Love and Hip-Hop,” is charged with performing various sexual acts with a 15-year-old girl and inappropriately touching her at his former home in Lodi.

Bergen County prosecutors allege that Harris asked for and received oral sex from the girl and fondled her on various occasions between September 2009 and April 2010. He was arrested later that year and charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and child endangerment. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

Harris remains free without bail. He was not present in state Superior Court in Hackensack during jury selection Wednesday. Court officials expect to have a full panel of jurors by Thursday, and attorneys are scheduled to make opening remarks on Jan. 29.

“Love and Hip Hop” debuted in 2011, with the third season premiering this week. The show’s website on VH1 describes Harris as “a well-known name throughout New York City.”

“Through the years he has been concentrating on his real estate endeavors, but now is focused on building an empire in the music industry,” reads his biography.

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Officially Charged With Domestic Battery

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was officially charged Wednesday in a domestic violence case, according to the Broward State Attorney’s Office.

The flamboyant football player is facing one count of misdemeanor domestic battery for allegedly head-butting his wife, reality show personality Evelyn Lozada, prosecutors said.

Johnson was arrested Aug. 11 at his home in Davie, where he lived with Lozada. They had been arguing over a receipt found in his car that showed the purchase of condoms. She had a neighbor call 911; arriving officers noticed a cut on Lozada’s forehead, according to the investigative report.
She was treated at a hospital and he was taken to the Broward County Jail. The Dolphins released him shortly thereafter.

Johnson was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning. He is expected to file a written plea of not guilty instead of appearing in court.

The charge is punishable by one year in the Broward County Jail, prosecutors said.

VH1 has decided to pull the upcoming Ev & Ocho reality show from their lineup due to Chad Johnson's arrest Saturday night following an altercation with his wife, Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada.

"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," VH1 said in a statement.

According to the police report, Evelyn says she confronted Chad after finding a receipt for a box of condoms. In the report, Evelyn goes on to claim that Chad head butted her and began to scream, at which point Evelyn reportedly ran to a neighbor's house.

Chad was charged for battery with a bond set at $2,500.

The Miami Dolphins have also cut Chad from the team following the incident.

VH1's eight-part series Ev & Ocho was set to air in September, and while wedding dress shopping in May, Evelyn told TheInsider.com that the spinoff will focus on their real-life wedding and relationship -- fights and all.

Rihanna Deemed Too Sexy For Nivea By New CEO Stefan Heidenreich. The singer signed on to represent the skin care brand in 2011 and the brand proceeded to use her song "California King Bed" in their commercial and fund her tour before Heidenreich joined the company. Rihanna, on the other hand, proceeded to continue partying and have on-stage wardrobe malfunctions. Speaking to German newspaper Welt, Heidenreich said (according to Google translate), "Rihanna is a no go ... I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna."

Heidenreich added, "Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability." It's unclear if this means that Rihanna's officially received the ax, but it's sure to be quite the blow since the Nivea contract was a huge factor in skyrocketing her onto Forbes' list of the highest paid celebrities under 30.
